David Overstreet, Ph.D., MSW is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 35 years of professional experience treating a wide age range of individuals with diverse problems. Dr. Overstreet’s early training as a clinical social worker prepared his work as an inpatient substance abuse specialist treating adolescents, adults and families. He went on to design, implement and direct theoretically driven, multidisciplinary, hospital-based treatment programs for children and adolescents with severe trauma and mood disorders, substance abuse, developmental and behavioral disorders. Dr. Overstreet is intensely interested in developing healing therapeutic relationships, and enjoys working with individuals who have chronic health conditions, to maximize functioning and life satisfaction. He earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology and began delivering outpatient services within a private practice group setting. In 2002, Dr. Overstreet began solo practice and aligned it with local primary care physicians; pediatric groups; psychiatrists; schools; and other community agencies; with the goals of promoting continuity of care and high quality treatment. He retired his solo practice at the end of 2018 to enjoy a personal sabbatical and assist a family member with cancer care.

Dr. Overstreet will resume professional practice in March, 2020, as a staff psychologist and consultant with the specialized group practice, Psychological Network, Inc. Dr. Overstreet will provide psychological services to a wide range of school-age youth, adults, families and seniors with problems, including depressive and anxiety disorders; developmental conditions; neurological disorders; family and marital problems; and seniors with mood, social and health concerns.

Dr. Overstreet received his undergraduate degree in psychology and social work from Southeast Missouri University in 1981; earned his M.S.W. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1984; and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, in 1994.
